Fiberglass Rebar (GFRP Bar)
Are fiberglass rebars corrosion-resistant and resistant to acids and alkalis?
Fiberglass rebar offers exceptional corrosion resistance: it remains virtually unaffected in acidic or alkaline environments with a pH of 2–12, and its salt spray resistance is over 10 times that of conventional steel rebar. Accelerated aging tests confirm that after 5000 hours of immersion in simulated seawater, strength retention remains above 95%. It is ideal for highly corrosive environments such as marine engineering projects, chemical plants, wastewater treatment facilities, and coastal areas, with a design service life of 50–100 years.
